When we were asked to shoot the nuptials of NYC-based bride and groom, Swapna and Mark, there was no way we could have known what a beautiful spectacle the celebration would be. We knew it would be at The Intercontinental, here in Buckhead, and that legendary Planner, Nancy Fields was in charge. So, what we did know, was that it was going to be incredible. Plus, it’s always fun to shoot something outside of a traditional american wedding – and in this case, there were no holds barred, in any direction.
To start, just imagine an entire empire of colors, literally something from every square inch of the rainbow, and living in their richest possible hues, then pack in two gorgeous families full of fun personalities and sweet sentiments and then, call it a wedding. What you’re looking at is the utterly fantastic fete of two lovebirds, who celebrated once in the traditional American fashion, where she surprised her groom with a traditional white gown, and again in the eye-candy-esque, Hindu elegance.
What a treat for shooters, Jes and Adam! Just take a look at the myriad of incredible moments they captured. From live animals to glittery turbans and show-stopping theatrics (live dancers!), breath-taking linens to delicately adorned henna, this was a wedding like none other, and truly an honor for us to be a part of.
Adam said, “I loved capturing all the amazing details, colors and lighting of this spectacle! Seriously, a troupe of dancers was bussed in from Indiana for the entertainment. But, what I loved most was getting to know Swapna and Mark. After enduring a long distance relationship because of school and jobs, the wedding really marked a new beginning of a life together for them! They were so thrilled and thankful to become husband and wife and finally be together moving forward.”
Here’s a few of our favorites, from the rehearsal to days one and two of the wedding… happy ogling!
