When Jaqueline and John decided on a Biltmore Ballroom wedding for their big day, they knew it would be a feat to bring their relaxed Southern culture to life amidst such astounding elegance. Little did they know, the team at the Biltmore are as Southern as sweet tea themselves, and under the guidance of Nancy Fields of Elegant Weddings and Affairs, the gorgeous wedding proved that sweet southern elegance is alive and well here in Atlanta and maybe even more fun here than anywhere else!
With a select wedding crowd that was mostly from out of town, the betrothed wanted to make sure their guests felt like they truly got the “southern hospitality” experience… and had a really, really good time.
Lead photographer Jes adds, “Jaqueline wanted a grand southern wedding. She got the big ballroom, she wore a gorgeous, fit-for-a-princess dress and a long, show-stopping veil. And amidst that vision, the wedding was elegant and simple, almost regal. It really was just simple beauty.”
The lush floral and the room’s decor were classic, and decidedly elegant! Britt Wood expertly guided Jaqueline to keep the palate soft and white to accent the ballroom’s existing beauty. He highlighted the Biltmore perfectly. The food, by Dennis Dean Catering was lip smacking delicious, but beautifully presented (and widely devoured!). And, of course, the crowd was awed and elated between dancing, toasting and tasting. In fact, everyone just wanted to keep dancing. Hardly anyone was caught sitting down during the reception–“Even Jackie’s grandfather couldn’t stop dancing,” Jes remembers. “Honestly, everyone begged for more music when the reception ended.”
…A successful southern soiree – if we’ve ever seen one!
