Nilam and David | Swan House and Atlanta History Center Wedding
Being a “wedding photojournalist,” people often ask “Do you ever get tired of photographing weddings?” Though I understand where they are coming from, I feel that is like asking a bookworm if they ever get tired of reading books… Every wedding is different, from the people, to the setting, to the traditions that are important to them. A wedding is the context of the situation but the story, the heart and the details are unique to each and every celebration. It’s a very personal experience to be so involved with one of the biggest event/moment/day of someones life. I treasure that, and I treasure the people that invite me to document that story for them. I am documenting so much more than a ceremony and reception, I am creating a record of their family, their legacy, their traditions and their beliefs.
This brings me to the recent wedding of Nilam and David. It was such an honor to document this gorgeous wedding. The venue, the planning, the details, the weather all came together for a perfect day but it was THE STORY that captivated me. Nilam and David’s wedding brought together two families with very different backgrounds and masterfully combine both Hindu and Jewish traditions for one amazing celebration. What struck me was the way the families embraced ALL of the traditions with more than acceptance, with total joy and enthusiasm. David and Nilam were awesome to work with, they trusted me to do my job while they FULLY invested their energy and attention in the wedding, their families and adoringly in each other.
Here are a few highlights of this incredible blended celebration and the amazing team behind it!
