There’s a saying that occasionally floats around the internet emblazoned on memes and scrawled across wedding websites. “Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale.” That, my friends, is exactly what happened for Christine and Matthew. They were married on November 18th, with a ceremony at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation and a reception at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, NC. Their wedding was simply magical, which is appropriate because their story is pretty special as well.
Matthew and Christine were 16 and 15, respectively, when Matthew, nervously asked her out on what would become her one and only first date. Now, just shy of ten years later, they were tying the knot! The love and excitement shared by these childhood sweethearts was a delight to observe.
Adam loved documenting these two lovebirds. They were both incredibly confident and comfortable in their own skin. They were fully engaged in their wedding day, trusting us to capture the amazing moments that naturally unfolded. Being so naturally engaged with one another and with the celebration surrounding them provided endless opportunities for both photographers.
The first look was a BIG DEAL for Matthew and one of the parts of the day he was most excited about. The anticipation and excitement on his face was awesome, and watching the moment unfold was truly something memorable. The rest of the world seems to fall away in the images of this happy couple!
This gorgeous mountain wedding happened during the wildfires that raged through much of Tennessee and North Carolina. That residual smokiness just amplified the mystical, fairytale feel of the day. Speaking of magic, the reception decor by CRUSH was simply breathtaking! It took that fairytale feel of the day to the next level. They created a positively stunning backdrop allowing us to create some striking images. Old Edwards Inn is already GORGEOUS but CRUSH really ratcheted everything up a notch for a colorful, captivating reception under a spectacular web of twinkling lights!
We cannot thank the Boddy family enough for allowing us to document this celebration of love, family, and commitment. Christine and Matthew were an amazing couple to photograph and their love for each other was simply breathtaking.
