Ashleigh + Taylor | Wedding at the Stave Room - The Decisive Moment Wedding Photojournalism

Ashleigh and Taylor were wed on August 20 with a ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens followed by a reception at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works. Ashleigh and Taylor are the definition of relaxed elegance. They were both so calm and relaxed on their wedding day and focused on fully enjoying the family and friends around them.

The couple first met at Taylor’s fraternity house, Delta Tau Delta, at the University of Alabama. Unbeknownst to one another, they both transferred to UGA. Once they figured out they were back in the same place, they started officially dating their senior year. Their relationship continued long distance, from Atlanta to Augusta, while Taylor was in medical school. During his 3rd year spring break, Ashleigh and Taylor took a trip to Charleston together. One day, he took Ashleigh to meet her parents for a drink at Cassique Club on Kiawah Island, where the bride’s family had traveled many times. There, with a hidden photographer, he proposed in a garden.

Photographed by Jessica McGowan and Jason G, this wedding was fabulous from the garden ceremony to the rustic chic reception. The ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens featured the spectacular “Chihuly in the Garden” exhibit; featuring original glass sculptures by internationally renowned glass artist, Dale Chihuly. I adore the color the sculptures add in so many of the shots – it was such a beautiful exhibit! The blue sculpture is almost like a frozen firework in the background! Stunning! The garden has so many gorgeous backdrops but it is the couple that make the images truly shine. I also love the image (above) of Ashleigh and Taylor just before they kiss. It is such a romantic shot of this GORGEOUS couple. The moment before is always SO delicious! Kudos to Jes on a gorgeous shot!

The family has been so warm and lovely to work with and Ashleigh’s mom was so sweetly dedicated to making this a great celebration for the bride and groom! She was very involved but also very willing to let the bride and groom achieve the wedding they wanted – it was very sweet and very generous.

This wedding was so relaxed and focused on family. We have talked a lot this year about focusing on what matters most and I really felt this at this wedding. Family, friendship, laughter and living in the moment. It was SO elegant in its simplicity and style. Congratulations again to Ashleigh and Taylor!
