April + Clarke | Summerour Studio Wedding - The Decisive Moment Wedding Photojournalism

This very talented couple are involved in the entertainment industry in different areas. The bride, actress April Billingsly, has her latest project currently screening at the Atlanta Film Festival. The groom, Clarke, performs with a big jazz band called “The Auburn Knights,” as well as works behind the scenes in film and television.

Clarke and April met several years ago while in college. April had a crush on Clarke but at the time but he was taken. Several years later, after they’d both graduated and began their careers, they re-met. April, who had just moved back to Atlanta from Los Angeles had booked a small role in a movie shooting in Birmingham. Clarke, who had moved back to Birmingham from New York, happened to be working there in movie production. In short, they remembered each other, went out on a few dates, started Skyping non-stop, made a lot of long drives to see each other, and fell in love. April & Clarke were married on May 21 with their ceremony and reception at the Summerour Studio in Atlanta’s exciting Westside.

Adam and April clicked pretty immediately when she came to meet us. With Adam’s background in film and television, they had a lot in common, and he had a great understanding and respect for her passion for her job. Being performers, April and Clarke are naturally expressive people which was such a treat for Adam to photograph!

Throughout their entire wedding, April and Clarke focused on the FUN of it all! From little jokes during their vows to hamming it up on the dance floor, it was clear that they knew how to have a good time together! They were great about taking care of and interacting with their guests so that everyone had an absolute blast. Their interaction with each other and their guests was such a lovely reflection of the deeply caring and fun people they are.

April and Clarke were such a treat to photograph because they had these great moments when they were silly and playful together followed by a moment that was genuinely sweet and tender. We were honored to be a part of this beautiful celebration.
