Christina and Colin were wed on April 1st with a ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and a reception following at the Piedmont Driving Club. Christina is the sister of a former bride, and we were so honored to be invited to take part in a second wedding with this wonderful family. The wedding was perfectly orchestrated by Amy Diloreti whom we adore and have had the pleasure of working with for the better part of a decade!
There’s no compliment more valuable than a referral to family. We adore this family and were thrilled to work with them again. Being given the chance to take part in a second celebration, photograph familiar faces and reconnect with former couples is a rare privilege. We loved being able to document another chapter of this family’s story! Plus, Christina and Colin were a dream to work with. They had such a calm and even approach to their own wedding and they really trusted us throughout the day.
Christina and Colin’s ceremony was held at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, to commemorate their love of the outdoors. The gardens offered an exquisite backdrop of tranquil beauty with the lush greenery and hardwoods arching high overhead. The Botanical Gardens have so many stunning and romantic spaces for beautiful ceremonies. The light in the garden was magical in the way it filtered through the spring foliage and played on Christina’s veil.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, the bride, groom, and wedding party walked from the gardens, through Piedmont Park to the Piedmont Driving Club for the reception. The Piedmont Driving Club is one of the oldest venues in Atlanta, founded in 1887. You might think that it was originally a golf club, but its name is derived from the old recreational practice of gentlemen “driving” their horses & carriages on the club grounds. Its location overlooking the park and rich history make it a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding. Christina said, “We will try to bring the outdoors in at the Driving Club by decorating the ballroom with tall flowering branches, lots of white and candles for a clean bright look.” Her vision was realized with a stunning and bright setting for the reception.
Christina and Colin seemed to enjoy every moment of the celebration and were so attentive to one another. Romantic moments naturally unfolded between the two of them which led to so many loving images. We loved their laughter as well – you can tell it was infectious from the images. One of the most romantic moments was when the couple took a moment on the dance floor together at the end of the wedding. Even though all the guests were outside awaiting the big exit, Christina and Colin took one last dance together to soak it all in. It was just a beautiful romantic moment to end the evening.
There was such joy at this wedding from bride and groom to family to friends. With some weddings, there is just a feeling and an energy that stays with you and warms you afterward.
That feeling for this wedding was just sheer, unadulterated JOY.
