Michelle and Ian were married on March 25th in a timeless ceremony and reception at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville GA.
The bride and groom met when luck, fate, or divine intervention carried Michelle and Ian 1000 miles from home and dropped them in the same dorm, same party, and even the same class! Even with all of that, Michelle did not make it easy for Ian… but he won her over pretty quickly and the rest is as they say… history.
Speaking of history, Barnsley Resort is a gorgeous setting for a wedding. Through the years, this estate has witnessed as much history, romance and intrigue as a fictional book. One of the things that make it such a wonderful choice is that all of the guests have the opportunity to stay in these gorgeous cottages on the grounds. It feels like a destination wedding, even though it’s only an hour away from Atlanta because everyone is easily able to relax be fully present in the celebration. We loved documenting both rehearsal dinner and wedding to be a part of the entire weekend experience.
This wedding was rich with familial details. Mom gifted the bride with custom jewelry as her something new, while Grandma’s handkerchief acted as Michelle’s something old and borrowed. Even throughout the rehearsal dinner the entire family was involved in thoughtful and sincere ways. Stories, presentations, jokes and tender sentiments were shared from so many family members. It was very special to see two wonderful families come together to celebrate two people so fully.
The gardens at Barnsley Resort are a gorgeous backdrop. Michelle and Ian had their ceremony in the meadow, where a majestic Oak tree towered high above. I love the white flowers designed by Jim White that enhanced the venue’s simple elegance and elevated this picturesque outdoor setting into something right out of a fairy tale.
After the ceremony, the party moved to the elegantly appointed tent adjacent to the Manor ruins. And when the party kicked off, it was a SERIOUS celebration. We Got the Beat was the band and they got everyone out of their seats! The dancing and festivities were off the charts and everyone was on the dance floor! During the Hora, Michelle’s face is absolutely priceless. She’s adorable anyway, but her expression in that moment is filled with so much excitement and exuberance makes it look like she’s having the time of her life.
This whole weekend was a thoughtful celebration filled with love. So many family members came together to celebrate the couple with so much joy and enthusiasm. There are few venues as charming as Barnsley and we LOVE spending time up there. Everything about this wedding was a delight for Adam and Jason: it had all the elements that make our job a labor of love. There was joy, celebration, sincere emotion, a beautiful back drop, great details and an amazing couple. It does not get much better than that!
