Tamar and Josh were married on October 15 with a stunning ceremony and reception at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead. All of the stylish details really came together beautifully for this wonderful couple. But we can’t talk about their wedding without a little bit of the background of their love story…
Tamar grew up in Atlanta, and Josh moved here for his residency. They were both ready to meet someone new and found each other using Jdate: a Jewish dating website. They went on their first date on the third day Josh was living in Atlanta! Their engagement story is equally sweet. Little did Tamar know, Josh had been planning the proposal for months! Tamar isn’t the easiest person to surprise, but Josh was up for the challenge. One Friday evening, Tamar was asked to go to Ponce City Market (which had just opened) for dinner with two of her friends. Josh told Tamar he was going to a concert that evening so he would be out late. As she left for dinner, he was nonchalontly sitting in his lounging clothes with their pup, Wesley. On the way to dinner, Tamar’s friends needed to “run an errand” before going to their destination but it was just a way to stall so Josh could get to PCM first!
Without Tamar even knowing, she directed herself to her own proposal. She showed her friends where to park near the beltline. She directed the way they should walk to the market from this popular walking path. As they turned the corner to walk into PCM, there was Josh, standing there waiting with a bouquet of flowers and of course, their pupster, Wesley! It was a beautiful moment with the sun setting in the background. Tamar thought that the proposal was over, but SURPRISE! Their family and friends (some from out-of-town!) were all waiting at their apartment to celebrate afterward.
With such a beautiful beginning, it’s only fitting for their wedding to be spectacular. Josh and Tamar had such an amazing team of vendors that helped them bring their dream wedding to life. Terry Saxe of Special T Events is a fantastic planner and kept every detail in order and running smoothly. Their florist, Tulip, always has such a cool style and created stunning floral accents and bouquets. Not to mention their venue, The Grand Hyatt, has gorgeous new ballrooms with the most perfect chandeliers for a wedding – they look like intertwined wedding rings – and the hotel is amazing as far as service and client care. Tamar’s great sense of style really shone in the cohesive details of the wedding. I LOVE the extra tall chuppah and how the fabric flowed so gracefully from the ceiling.
We loved documenting the relationship between Tamar and her parents, it was so very loving – every look it is obvious that they adore their daughter. Her first dance with her father was charming and then to have him serenade the new husband and wife was just the sweetest thing ever.
I love this venue and how everything came together for a truly stunning celebration for Tamar and Josh. Tamar credits “approaching wedding planning with patience, compromise, and a positive attitude! It is a beautiful and exciting time for everyone- enjoy every single moment! It goes by way too quickly.” We hope that the new Mr. and Mrs. can enjoy many of those moments forever in their gorgeous images!
