Montego Bay Wedding | T + J

Little did we know, when we arrived in Montego Bay, we would be photographing our last celebration for the foreseeable future. However, if you are going to have a wedding to go out on…. this was the one to do it! All the things we love; a gorgeous + wonderful couple, a stunning setting, two great families and some of the most fun guests and wedding party we have had the pleasure to photograph! This wedding was full of joy, laughter, sentiment and celebration.

Tyisha and Jack met at Howard University in 2001, dated for two years, and then parted ways as Tyisha embarked on her journalism career. 18 years later, the stars aligned and the two reconnected. “We always wanted to get back together but circumstances just didn’t support it. But when we got back together and the timing was right – we felt like we were exactly where we needed to be.”

The bride and groom chose Jamaica’s Rui Hotel, Montego Bay for their destination wedding festivities. The bride always wanted to get married outdoors, and the sky became her “something blue”. The flowers were a stunning pop of yellow in remembrance of her late mother. “I wanted all yellow to represent my mothers love & legacy. It was her favorite color & she always said it was the color of love .” Many family members and wedding party also wore yellow in her mother’s honor.

Tyisha and Jack were focused on having a great time and enjoying this special time with friends and family. “We enjoyed every minute of our wedding. Even when things went wrong – we didn’t let it dictate the mood. It goes by so fast – we’re glad we didn’t take things too seriously.”

A ceremony in front of the ocean and a reception on a rooftop under the stars made for an unforgettable celebration. We loved documenting this love story and as it said on her custom shot glasses….”True Love stories never end – Jack & Tyisha 2/29/20.”
