Sara and Mike’s BEAUTIFUL Wedding Album arrived at the studio this past week and whisked us back to one of our favorite weddings of last year! Their stunning wedding took place at the lovely Ritz-Carlton – Buckhead on May 28th and we are still swooning over the whole celebration. We worked with Sara and Mike to create a Custom Signature Album that is simply gorgeous! I know it will be a treasured heirloom that they will enjoy forever!
We ADORE this amazing couple. We had a wonderful opportunity to get to know them before the wedding during an extended engagement session in NYC. They are strong, serious and successful New Yorkers who literally turn to mush over each other. (yes, it’s adorable) Mike is also a fantastic photographer himself, so Adam was honored that he chose him to photograph the wedding.
Mike and Sara’s romance spans across years and the entire east coast! They first met at camp in PA and years later met again at a mutual friends house in DC where they both lived. Mike says that as cliché as it sounds, he saw Sara from across the room and knew…. their affections were further solidified that night over late night fried chicken.
On April 11, 2015, Sara rushed home from Soul Cycle to quickly shower, thinking she and Mike were off to a special client event. As she burst in the door of their NYC apartment, she was surprised to see every surface covered with candles and rose petals. Their favorite song was playing in the background, and Mike looked dapper in a suit in the living room where he proposed! To say she was caught off guard is an understatement! After the very sweet proposal, Mike had a few more surprises in store. The first of which was that their immediate families had flown in and were waiting for them at a rooftop bar in Manhattan! They spent the afternoon celebrating with family until they walked to a second bar and were surprised by all of their friends; many of whom had traveled in from DC to celebrate their engagement.
That level of love and planning was also evident in their amazing wedding! Almost everything Sara wore had a tie to her family. Her engagement ring was custom made from Worthmore Jewelers with the stunning center stone from her mother’s engagement ring. Sara’s dress from Amsale was perfection and hidden inside was her something blue! Sara had a blue heart cut from her father’s blue hospital scrubs sewn into the inside of her dress and surprised him with it during their father-daughter first look. Her diamond studs belonged to her late paternal grandmother. They had been passed down to Sara’s mother and were then given to Sara as a wedding gift from her parents.
Sara and Mike’s first look resulted in one of our all time favorite images as Sara’s bridesmaids and mom managed to peek in through a window to see their special moment!
Suzanne Reinhard was the mastermind behind this stunning celebration and orchestrated an amazing team flawlessly. The gorgeous décor and flowers by Edge Design suited Sara’s sense of style to a T. Classic. Elegant. with a touch of Sparkle. There were so many gorgeous details from that day (did I mention THE dress!) but nothing outshone their joy and excitement. Getting their album back was such a delight. I hope that Sara and Mike love reliving this amazing day as much as we did!
